First time at track, SLP day times, what do you think?

Just came back from SLP Day at Englishtown Raceway Park, in Old Bridge NJ. I dont think the track prep was that great, people were spinning alot and everyone was off what they should be running. Hell SLP's ZL1 with a 100 shot only pulled off a 11.7, isn't it a deep 10's car? Had someone who I drove down with only pull a 13.5 with an 02 TA, with LT's, Lid, ls1 hot cam, slp LM. So I think everyone was alittle off. Anyway, we got 3 runs in. Here are my 3 runs N/A and with what i did wrong and thought I did good:

Run #1
R/T: .821
60': 2.299
330':6.180
1/8: 9.350
1/8 Mph: 76.29
1000': 12.090
1/4: 14.698
Mph: 81.31

Well for this run, since it was my first run, i did not know where the track ended to I was on the brakes before i ever hit the end of the timed track, lol. Dont ask

Run #2
R/T: .687
60': 2.484
300':6.311
1/8: 9.430
1/8 Mph: 79.20
1000': 12.094
1/4: 14.343
Mph: 100.79

This run was better, BUT had my ac on level 1, hehe.

Run #3
R/T: .983
60': 2.498
300':6.336
1/8: 9.436
1/8 Mph: 79.96
1000': 12.072
1/4: 14.297
Mph: 101.80

This run was best of the day, I THINK I could have did better. I was spinning in first, maybe half way through it, all the other gears i hooked and shifted A+

All you time slip guys, compare it to my mods, rip the stats apart. Tell me what you think. It wasn't to bad for having stock exhaust and gutted cat. I wasnt spraying fyi

I just got home from E-Town as well. The track prep was pretty bad. I couldnt hook for my life. I usually run at Atco and pull 2.00 60 footers on street tires. Here, i couldnt break a 2.2 short time. Also, I had to run with my cutout closed due to the noise ordinance. So basically I ran with only my homemade CAI, no other mods. I dont have my timeslips with me now, but my times were as follows"

14.1 @100
14.0@99
14.1@99
14.2@98
14.1@99
14.1@99
14.2@100.

My car was dead on consistent all day long. The only variation every run was my launch, which were very inconsistent. I ended up losing in the fifth round of eliminations to a silver ls1 SS by a tenth of a second(tire spin).

I would have expected more for sure but elevation and track prep might be some of it. Weight of the car might be some as well. Too many variables. The MPH seems about raverage but the ET is a little off.

The main thing that I se is the 60 ft is BAD. I would expect a 1.90 (very obtainable) 60 ft and some mid 13's just from that. I am not sure if the tuning is EXACT so maybe you can get it scanned and some updates.

MAD does good tuning, is this a file he sent you, has it been scanned and updated? "Maybe" there is more in the tuning, maube not.

I would definitely get the 60 ft lower and work from there.

I think you're doing pretty good considering the mods that you have. You don't really have any mods that add much horsepower, so you should be near stock times. And that's what you seem to be pulling. If you can lower your 60ft, then you'll be much happier with your times.

Nick,
I think those are good times, except for your 60'.
If you can get the 60' down to about 1.9, you will see 13.3s to 13.5s.

Remember, each .1 second you shave off your 60', results in a .15 overall gain in the 1/4.

Get some Nitto drag radials and experiment with your launch.

Also, don't know if you knew about this, but if you were running your rear tires at 35 PSI, try running them at 22-26 PSI. They will hook MUCH better that way.

Your car has the power for the times I mentioned above. Work on your launch and traction and it'll be where you want it to be.

You can easily get 13s with your current setup. Just lower those 60ft times.

Well, I ran a 13.95 on an almost stock A4 yesterday and it only trapped 97.5. That was with a 1.95 on street tires @ 26 PSI.

PS. Same car ran a 2.6 60' at 35 PSI.
