First time at the track

Almost hit 13's

14.059 @ 100.45mph
2.25 60ft

14.08 @ 101mph
2.27 60ft

Mods:
CAI
Hooker Catback
TBB
!screen

If I can get better at launching it hopefully I can hit 13.9's.
Any tips or other free mods to squeeze .06 out of my car??

Re: First time at the track

not bad. i have the mods in my sig, with Mohawk predator 275/40/17s all around. the back tires have less than 1/8" of tread, but i still managed a 2.2 60' time. my best was a 14.1 @ 99mph. the guy i bought it from was able to squeeze a 13.9 out of it, and also i took it the first week i got my liscense, so improve the driving and traction and it ould be 13s. what kinda tires do u have? also how good are you at driving? those things will be the difference between a 13.7 and a 14.2. keep practicing and work on launching. my method was right above 2 grand, then drop it and stand on it. i also did a dry hop right before, just to clean the tires off.

Looks right on. Good job for your first time.

As for the free mod, you can easily get that 0.06 seconds from a little better launch. Try launching from 2500-3000 rpms and quickly letting off the clutch while holding the gas constant. Then once you are moving, then you can nail the gas. It all happens very quickly, but it works pretty good.

Yea I have some crappy 245/50/16's that were on the car when I got it. They need to be changed and I am going to some Nitto 555's in the back so that should help. I would like to think I can drive. I know people that are better than me, but I am also better than a lot of people.
