First impressions of the gm847

Wow. This thing is a monster. Today is my first day driving it and I was a little worried about cam surge, but I havent felt any yet. I only drove it a few times because the exhaust isnt bolted up yet, but i couldnt resist. A gm847 with open headers?!? The whole neighborhood came outside to see what the hell was going on! The only problem I have with it so far is that Ill definetly need tires soon.

You are about to be "MR. Popular" in your neighborhood with open headers.

We lived at the end of a cul-de-sac and one of the neighbors had a dragster with a nitro burning 392 hemi - he used to run it up the street once in a while

Let us know how you like it once it's all together and tuned up, especially in the typical driving rpms(1500-3000 rpm).

That cam is a monster up top, and will turn a lot of heads.

Hopefully some of your neighbors are gearheads and will appreciate what you have done. Any plans for the dyno or track?

i run duals with single chamber flowmasters and my neighbors were joke about sending out a letter to the neighborhood to get funds to buy different mufflers for my car.

I got everything bolted up and it sounds good. That thing pulls HARD up top. Its feels weird to lose traction in the middle of 2nd gear. It has a tiny bit of surge below 1800 rpms, but its hardly noticable. I think it has good street manners, maybe because I have a 6 speed. And I love the looks people give me at traffic lights! I cant wait to pull up next to a mustang or somebody else that needs to be humbled!
