first 1/4 run tonight for me

ran the 1/4 today for the first time...kind of disappointed...with my mods i thought i would be in the mid 13's...but then again i know what went wrong so i can only learn and get better...
my 60's were terrible...best of the day w/3:23's A4 and stock converter i pulled a 2.26.....my best ET was against a 2002 SS....he ran a 13.4 w/a 2.08 60 and i pulled a 14.03 w/a 2.26..
All other runs were terrible b/c of my 60's...i did though love burning a ricer who thought he had a chance...did the boomerang trick and blasted past em...it was so funny when he was trying to warm up his tiny tires..he could barley break em loose...
I need to work on my launches and get some new tires.

Your 60 will definately have to improve. I got a 13.9 my first time I went to the track on my 4th run. I had K&N CAI, a cut out, and tb bypass on stock Good Year GCS tires. I was ablt to pull a 2.0 60, but lacked high end power.

are you spinning off of the line? Try starting out in 2nd instead of first if you are spinning real bad until you get something sticky on back. how much rpm are you staging at?

I don't think starting out in second is gonna help him at all. Unless he just really wants to get rid of his clutch.

What MPH did you have at the end of that run, btw?

Your 60ft is hurtin' ya.. Get your 60ft down to a 1.9 and you'll be happy w/ the result's.. Buy a mild converter and you could possibly kiss the 12's Good first run though.. Nobody hit pay dirt the first time..

you have an automatic trans right? i used to have a A4 Z28 with 3.23s and i had to start in 2nd gear to keep from spinning until i got some dot slicks and 3.42s. my shift manually from 1st to 2nd spun real bad. I have a 700r4 with vigilante convertor, enlarged valve bodies and tci shift and it all works good for me now. drag racing is something you will have to do and learn from. ask questions to guys at the track. usually they are more than willing to talk hot rods and racing tricks with you. have a buddy go with you to help and watch- try staging deep and see if that hgood luckelps your times overall(reaction and 60') good luck and have fun!!

well, since you are trapping 100 mph, then your engine is running correctly. That's 4-6 mph over stock.

You should be able to hit mid 13's easy, like others have said. It has the potential, now it just needs a good launch.

My 95 Formula trapped 100 mph bone stock, and it's an A4. My previous LT1, a 2.73/A4 95TA, trapped 98.8 bone stock. I'd have been pretty upset if either of my LT1s had only run 94-96mph in stock trim! That is way too low for a 275hp car.

That's great that you guys have trapped that high, but it's not the norm from what I've seen. Most of the stock LT1 A4 times I've seen are around 96 mph. Not to say that the A4 can't be quicker, but 98-100 for the A4 is higher than the traps that I'm used to seeing.

I could be wrong though. I'm not an A4 1/4 mile expert.
