Fireworks under the hood

I have been experiencing a bad engine speed related vibration lately. It vibrates the entire car. If you rev it to about 2 grand in neutral the turn signal lever just kinda buzzes.

Just put in a new clutch and transmission and thought it might have been an out of balance clutch (AutoZone) but then I opened the hood the other night and I could see sparks around the #7 plug when I first fired it up, but not again later. Have already put in a new set of NGK TR55's and a new set of plug wires.

I've still got those little metal heat shields around my plug boots - could that be causing this? What else would cause this and how would I go about fixing it?

Also, is OBDI capable of logging individual cylinder misfires? I'm not getting any SES codes. I've got an AKM cable I used to upload my new pcmforless tune - I'd like to get some data logging software. Any recommendations?

Re: Fireworks under the hood

Pull off the wire boots (at the plug end) and apply a thin coat of dielectric grease.

OBD I can't detect individual cylinder misfires becuase we don't have crank pos. sensors.

What he said. Also pull off the boot and make sure the plug CAP is on there tight. They screw on on the NGKs (which is silly imo, autolites for me)
