Fired my 388 up today!!! Sounds great!!!

After all this time and planning and sweating I finally got my engine together and fired that S.O.B. up. This thing is a beast. Thanks for all the people who helped me. I want to get some pics etc, but I got the Summit x-pipe hooked up for only $250.00 and this guy did an excellent job. Only probs I had is I had to beat the pan up a little on the drivers side for clearance and I forgot to tighten the heater hoses to the heater core and dexcool went everywhere, but after all that it's great. Still needs some work and a tune but I got the crank to finally work after paying out the ***. Thanks guys.

Mike, that's good to hear. Glad your crank worked out after all that drama. I'm about a half a day of firing mine up, so wish me luck. I got to get the tranny cooler located and the intake tract, then give it a twist.

Good luck to you too. I was Z28-less for about 3 months, finally back into it and out of my POS 3.4L 95. Hope everything goes good for you, I lucked out on a couple things.

Another thing is the baffle didn't work with that ARP kit, was way too close and the crank hit it.

Re: Fired my 388 up today!!! Sounds great!!!

I'll try to post some sound clips but otherwise I love the x-pipe over any catback system, sound is better and gives it that roar. As far as mods, basically fully modded, I have cc468 which was a great choice going from a cc306 and the heads/intake/tb were all customly ported/polished by my father for FREE and flow badazz. I need to get it tuned to get some real power out of it. And just today, my hood flew up and busted my windshield, that window was getting old newayz so in with a new one tommorow. Thanks for the help again.
