Finally went to track tonight, are these good #'s?

Hey guys, i finall took my Z to the track for the first time tonight. How do these numbers sound for the mods i have (in signature)?
This is my best all around run and last run out of Five runs.

60 ft. - 2.086
594ft. - 8.707
1/8 ET - 9.295
1/8 MPH -76.54

oh yeah, this run was against a 2000 LS1 trans am

his numbers are as follows:

60 ft. - 2.214
594ft. - 8.678
1/8 ET - 9.236
1/8 MPH- 80.60

Darn that LS1 top end HP!! oh, and he only beat me by .064
Not too bad, i guess. He had a .690 reaction time to my .696 light. And that was on a heads up pro tree! My best regular reaction time was a .506 I was leaving the line at about 1300 rpm, give or take a hundred and was spinning off the line. SO, what do you guys think !? Headers (Hooker or Jet Hot LT's) and maybe a Borla exhaust will be next, don't know what order though. Thanks in advance guys

Ryan

60' aint bad.. real close to being under 2 sec. i dont think many ppl pay attention to 1/8 miles times unfortunately so i cant comment on your complete run. no 1/4 mile tracks around?

Sorry about that. There is one about an hour away, but they aren't open on Thursday nights. Tonight was just a test and tune at the local Eighth mile track. I would like to go to Steele (Alabama International Dragway) either this weekend or next. They have a 1/4 mile there, plus it's a better track. I was just anxious to see if anyone had an opinion or their own 1/8 postings maybe with similar mods. Thanks again!!

For comparison sake i run 8.20's in the 1/8th at about 86mph or so now... my 13.90 run when i was stock was a 9.027 @ 79.6 So thats probably a 14.10ish run or so@97ish.. NOt bad at all.. Right on par w/ what non bolt on LT1's run this time of year.. get some Hookers/Jet Hot's and you'll be very happy... Good Luck..Great times...

LT1FlaGuy, I'm launching around 12-1300 rpm.

And I'm almost positive that the Borla exhaust would be the easier mod, but approx. how much hp would I gain from that alone? And is there any welding involved? Thanks again guys!

your numbers sound ok but his sound terrible. bone stock i ran a 8.88 @ 82.55 in the 1/8 mile. and that was only my second time at the track. i think i would go for the headers before the borla.

Borla=Overpriced. Just get a hooker cat-back and yank the cat off. You'll like it.

Lt's require a new ypipe which will be required to be welded tothe existing exhausst.. As far as Power goes.. W/ a cutout and a moroso cai and 3.42's i went 13.82@103ish mph varied w/ my 60ft.. added Lt's, and a electric water pump and went 12.73@108 w/ some drag radials and a 1.91 60ft.. in good air.. so... you should get a good gain off of LT's..

So would a Mufflex y-pipe hook up to Jet Hot Headers, b/c I know they are made for the Hooker LTs. Or is there a different ypipe for the Jet Hots?

nope the mufflex y will work w/ the jet hot's.. the jet hot's are essentially mirror image's of the hooker's w just thicker flanges i believe.. and a cheaper price too...

Your numbers sound pretty good. I went to the track a few weeks ago and ran this:

60 ft 2.186
330 ft 6.0347
1/8 9.253
mph 77.4

This was bone stock besides a bullet muffler in the i pipe (dynomouth). My car was running about 215 deg. and it was 90 out with 60% humidity.

Your times sound pretty good to me. I took my car to the track about two years ago when it was stock. I had just bought it from an old man that let it sit a lot so the tires sucked. They were starting to dry rot. But, I did get one 9.22 out of it. I don't remember the 60ft or anything like that. All of my other passes were right around 9.4 to 9.5 because of traction problems.

When I went my car had just turned over 50,000 so it was fairly fresh. With almost 150,000 miles on your car I would say you did very well.

I plan on making a trip back to the old 1/8th mile in July to see how much better I can do.

I have a little bit of input on the Borla also. I do like mine, but I don't think I would buy another. The fitment wasn't what I expected out of something that expensive. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't all that great either. Also, I am not sure whether I like the overall sound. If I put some adjustment plates in it sounds a lot better, but of course doesn't run as good. So, I run with the passenger side straight out. It sounds great at idle and WOT but, in between shifts and decelerating from high rpm's it has that no muffler sound. It kind of cackles a little. Most of my friends love this but I would prefer a smoother sound. I don't mind the volume just the cackling. For the price I would look at the big Mufflex systems or the Corsa.

I could be wrong but, I bet a Loudmouth system sounds about the same as my Borla with the plates out. It might be a little smoother because I think they come with a resonator. I know that they are cheaper.

Good luck, anyone of these will bring a smile to your face when you turn the key for the first time
