Cool Finally...track times: Part II

This thread is a continuation from: Finally....track times

Well I didn't quite break 11s, but I got pretty close. I can live with these #s for now

This is my best et. I had 20 psi in my M/T drag radials, I slipped the clutch so it didn't spin in 1st but as soon as I shifted into second it spun. Not so bad that I had to lift, but was spinning a little for sure. Anyways, I shifted out of first at 6500 rpm, and the rest of the shifts were at 6700 rpm.

And this pass was my best mph. I lowered the tire pressure to 18 psi, but actually went a slower 60'. This time it just chirpped second, no spinning. Also on this pass, all shifts were at 7000 rpm.

For the record, my slowest pass today was 12.53 @ 117. Most were in the 12.30s. Also for the record, all passes where I shifted at 7k were 117+mph. If I shifted any lower, it would go 115-116 mph.

I feel that this thing will be well into the 11s next season for sure.

Nice job...Get the first half of the track figured out and you should run 11.60-70s with that mph...

Way to go. I'm glad you found and eliminated the gremlins.

The 7K shift point seems to help mph, which usually means more average power getting to the ground in each gear. Just about what Bret said would happen.

Again, congrats!

Thanks Yep, Bret was right. The higher I shifted it, the higher my mph

I remember that advice, and some other guy doubting that Bret was right.
Nice job Colin. Now take your (own) advice, and set that puppy up so you can "launch that bitch hard".

Thanks I never even got around to pulling the front sway bar, and I still had my 18's bolted on the front yesterday. I'm thinking it did pretty decent considering the suspension isn't set up for drag duty at all. Maybe tax time this year will allow me to get a 9"

No thanks I watched a buddy of mine destroy a hybrid 8.8 in his 94 Z28 yesterday. And his car is quite a bit slower than mine....

I think your right, 9 inch. Why take chances, even if you give up a few extra hp.

I stand corrected...I have been informed that the D/A at 4:00 yesterday was 3160'.

I made the two 12.1x passes at 4:30 and 4:45.....

Good show, Colin.
I'd love to see the hp curve on your setup, but I'm sure it's sooper secret.
