Correct me if I'm wrong Dan, but couldn't a pair of highflow cats (Carsounds) be welded into an ORY-pipe by a good shop assuming he used the smaller version of the highflows? I actually have the stock size Random Tech highflow cat on mine, but I know RT also has smaller, "bullet" sized highflow cats available too. Anyways, I remember Speed Inc telling me a fews years ago they would be able to weld in some Carsounds into the MAC ORY-pipe I had to go with the MAC headers I bought for my old '00 Z28. But it might be different with ORY's that go with longtube set-ups? I would just ask a good exhaust/performance car shop if they could do it, otherwise buy a highflow catted-Y instead that I know TSP offers...

As for the cutout, why not just put one on your intermediate pipe before the axle? No need for dual cutouts IMO unless you plan on racing a heavily modified car at the track a lot. One single cutout on the I will probably only show a small gain since you already have a great flowing, straight-through system.

The only problem with putting the cutout after the cats, or way back in the exhaust is that all the flow restriction from the cats is still there. You haven't helped anything except the restriction from the muffler. That's why you want the cutout before any exhaust components that cause restriction. That way the exhaust can freely exit the cutout before it would hit any restrictions like cats, intermediate pipes, or the muffler.

Yeah I need it for inspection purposes as well in VA. I need to know if I order my Jet Hots and their ORY, if 3" cats will be possible. If I got cats, I wuold put the cutout right underneath my passenger side door.

u still lose power if its after the cat... but you'll bypass the muffler which is slightly restrictive depending on what type nad how much power ur pushing through it.

Just get a cat set up. 70 bucks for 2 catco or carsound cats. u dont need any air or O2 hook ups on them unless ur worried about emission.. I just pulled the wires out on mine. That way if u get 2 high flow cats u dont have to worry about hte power loss.. Then $120 for a custom made y pipe
ORY sounds like *** on some mufflers...

Ive noticed on Hooker mufflers the ORY isnt bad at all though.
