Finally got to drive my Z with my new headers!

With Hotcam Kit and no headers got me @ 290rwhp, and that's pretty low. I know I needed headers too but they are expensive, but I broke down and bought a nice set of Longtube headers from Dynatech with collectors ceramic coated.

I'm hitting the dyno soon hopefully to reach the 350 mark....

Got them installed and WHOA feels like a beast! Sounds incredible, Before the headers with the cam it sounded like a monster, now it's purrs and it's a little quieter and I really like it.

Until I step on it then it comes alive! Man I can't stress how much better the car is with headers! I've got the low end power I've been looking for and it doesn't seem so sluggish (A4)....

I'M LOOKING TO PUT THE SAME HEARS ON MY 97. WONDERING DID YOU USE A "OFFROAD" Y-PIPE OR LEAVE THE CATS OFF? I'VE BEEN TOLD THAT WITH NO CAT THE EXHAUST WILL BE MUCH LOUDER ???

I had a custom 3" Y-Pipe for the Lontubes and have no cats. It's quiter than what it was with the cat and no headers with the cam. I highly recommend these headers. They have good clearance which is what I need after a 2inch drop

Talking

Yo:
Thanks for that info! I wonder if these's installer are just trying to pick up some extra $$ ? I hear the DYNOTECHS don't heat up the A/C box like the HOOKER & SLP's? Which means you don't need the "heat" mat on the heater/ AC box?
