Finally fired up my new motor!!

Well, I finally got to fire the ol car up this morning. She started right up, held great oil pressure, and sounded pretty good too Just thought I would share. She should be ready for a nice little cruise in the morning
It's a 355 with Forged Scat 6 inch I beams, Mahle (-5cc) pistons, Stock crank turned and polished, MTI Heads, Joe O cam, and all ARP fastners. Should be right at 12.5.1 compression!!

Just rebuilt mine over the winter too.. I changed my oil after 50 or so miles miles, and next plan to change it out at 3,000 miles back to synthetic..

Your setup sounds similar to mine, make damn sure that thing is tuned with that much CR.

How did you get that much CR, did you zero deck the block or what?

Yeah, I'll be working on it for a little while, then off to get dyno tuned.

The block is zero decked and I have around 50 cc heads. It's a little more than I wanted, but Lloyd Elliot said compression makes killer power in LT1's. It's basically a weekend racer/crusier. So if I can't get it to run right on 93, 110 isn't that much higher.
