finally..all done

I just finished my cam install. I had to work nights on it after work all this week to finish it up. I got OVC wires on and everything. I even got all my rockers adjusted just right without having to do it while it's running. ...well all but one that I could hear when I just took it for a drive. I'll get to that tomrw as well as the tune. Gotta love that thump thump sound it's got now.. I don't think I'm going to adjust my idle up either, I like the lope

Next up, 255lph sitting in the garage already and the hole already cut... then hopefully s/c within the month.

just your run of the mill hotcam... Nothing special but it felt good to have it fire instantly and finally be done with all that work. Despite the one rocker coming a little loose or being a little off it felt pretty strong for just a cam change and pulled a lot smoother throughout the rpms.

The Z is my daily so I didn't want to go too wild with it. The s/c was an afterthought really but I've looked into it and there's a few people running boost on a hotcam. It just bleeds off a little of the boost with the 112.

The real fun will be me and my neighbors new project: a 468 BBC with forged goods that will be getting lots of boost and eventually going into a '70 camaro.

I don't think the HC has any overlap, does it? That's where you loose your boost with a supercharger.

Glad to hear that you're having fun. I want to see some pics of the blown rat when it's finished.

woot wooot this was the first time I had all rockers adjusted perfectly without having to do it running.

I figured out why I always had to go back and readjust.. I always went by my book but it was never quite right. It always said go to TDC and adjust such and such intake then such and such exhaust... well I came to the realization that some of those exhausts are in overlap so you have to rotate the crank slightly to get it to fully closed position. So lifters are spot on.

But what about that ticking you say?? heee heee have to laugh at myself on that one. I forgot the stupid egr tube in the back of the manifold.

Next task is to tighten, change the oil and then see what she's made of.
