Thumbs up Finally a 1/4 time w/ 396!

I was only able to do 1 run. She died on the way home from the track from broken valvetrain. Sounds like a snapped a few pushrods along w/ the rockers backing all the way out. Won't know til later this wk. Anywho heres the time.

93 M6/ Street twin & 3.23's, 3800lb race weight on street tires. Elevation is 1250ft above sea level.

R/T - 1.085
60 ft - 2.149
1/8 - 7.867 No mph listed
1/4 ET - 12.5
MPH 115

Is that pretty good?

Now I gotta go see if I have any major damage.

Thumbs down

Ouch im sorry. If all that broke on a new motor my machinest would have a big problem come monday morning. Did you overev the hell out of the motor? Your 60 foot needs some help for sure, traction is such a pain. You could be in the high 11s all day long with traction. Traps could be better too.

Where did you get your stroker kit? And did you find out what broke in the valvetrain yet?

I'd have to say that is pretty good on street tires, looks like u spun a little out of the whole but then it went like hell, get some meats on that hog and say hello to low 11's once you get the slicks be sure to do a good burnout

I'd say it's time to throw away the street tires

Good start! Get that valvetrain fixed and get her movin' again on a set of ET Drags

I've had this engine over 2 yrs built by Agostino. No I didn't over rev it I have the hydra rev kit along w/ the accel 300 set to 6700rpm. I shift right around 6400. I have had a total of 13 passes on the engine w/out fail til yesterday. I'm pretty sure w/ a few more runs I would've got the times down but considering 3800lbs w/ a full tank of gas that is pretty good esp for one that doesn't do 1/4 mile. I primarly do road race.

Honestly have to say to though I didn't get fully on it. So I know there was more. We had a Audi RS4 lay down a 12.2 @ 110 or so so I had to play mental games but we never got to pair up.

How did the heads flow?

It should run better than it did, even with traction problems.

Do you know where peak power is? I know with my old combo I thought I would be cooking by shifting @ 6500, but on chasis dyno, my combo made peak @ 6100-6200, so I shifted manually @ 6300 vs the pcm shift of 6500 and ran 2 tenths faster, no change in MPH though.

My LT1 heads flow. Cam is 232/242 110 LSA .544/.560

Int. Exh
200 136.0 132.7
300 182.4 159
350 202.3 162.5
400 220.6 169.2
450 237.2 175.8
500 248.8 185.5
550 263.7 189.1
600 270.4 194.1

So what kinda of times do you think it should make say w/ my setup then? On street tires? No slicks. This hasn't been dynotuned either just a mail order program because I'm over here.

We got the correct elevation 1230ft so I don't know if that factors much and our track is also at a slight uphill climp too.

Thanks,

Man, its good to see you finaaly made a pass with that motor . But I'm also sorry that you had valvetrain troubles. Thats a part of racing and you know that I know all about that. Now ,this give you a chance to go with a bigger cam and put some tire under that car to harness the power ,man " ET STREETS or HOOSIERS " .

New Best 11.89 /112.54 with newly install TH350 ATI Tranny.
I'm still tweaking it

Magnuis we don't have a track here. LOL We use the old air strip @ Bitburg AB. That and Hockenheim when they allow it.

Mac good hearing from you. Hope everything is going better for you. I was hoping it was valve train but it doesn't appear that way now. Took the valve cover off the driver side and it's perfect. So tonight I'll take the other side off and go from there. But I'm damn sure that side is fine too. SO that leaves me w/ the either the bottom end is on it's way out or the gear to the oil pump went cya! The car will crank if I go out there but the sound is horrible so I only did it one time after it went down intially and I haven't bothered trying doin it again. That's how I trashed the old engine. Hope it's not a paper weight if so I'm parting it out! Can't afford another stroker I've got a house to build. I'll wait for a 5th gen instead if it ever comes back.

Take care,

I think the time is pretty good considering the 60'. You mph seems a little low for a 6speed but you were probably starting to have your motor problem before you hit the traps. According to my calculations, just by getting your 60' times down into the mid 1.7s, your 1/8 mile times would probably drop down into the 7.4s giving you a potential 11.6-11.7 time. But that's just a rough estimate. BTW, what are the specs on you cam? I have an ARE heads/cam package but I think my cam would be a bit too small for a stroker. 222/230, .533/.544, 112 lsa.
