96 z28 a4 mods - intake and cat-back exhaust; rest stock.

First off, the confusing one... This ONLY happens at the track
Well, no matter what every run i make while i'm at the track, when it's goin from 2-3 it ALWAYS hits the rev limiter at least once, usually twice, and did it 3 times just once in many passes... wtf is up with that?? It goes straight to 6k pauses and then hits 3rd... tranny does fine 1-2; barks 2nd. And this ONLY happens while i'm at the track... On the street it will shift right about 5,800 goin 2-3.


Another confusing question I have is that my fans don't turn on by them selves.. ever. I looked on Shoebox's site and I did all the things he suggested short of hooking up a Scanner because I don't have one. I checked relays and fuses. Car will get all the way up to red-line.. maybe hotter never wait on it lol. But the fans will turn right on when i turn the A/C on.. Also, I was testing some today and if i turn the A/C on and then back off, the fans will stay on.. didn't think to see how long they stayed on for though.

I noticed the same thing with my trans. I would powerbrake on the street then floor it and it would bounce 2-3 sometimes. I replaced the transmission filter and havent had it do it since. I don't know if that could be your problem. Your tranny could be going out though.

 

Wouldn't think there was a prob w/ the tranny though, bein that it's so strong from 1-2 and never does it but at the track..
