I am in the planning/purchasing stages of building a turbo LT1 motor. The one in my 97 Z28 is running fine so I am going to leave it as is and build the LT1 out of my wrecked 94Z28.
I just paid $1,000,000 for a MSD Optispark earlier in the summer so that is the only thing I would like to re-use off the 97motor.
Will there be any parts I need to pull off my 97 to make things work?
I am already using OBD1 so I should need not worry about the crank sensor.

I hope that price for the MSD opti is a big typo. I'm a little confused though, you have a complete LT1 in a wrecked 94z28? And you have a 97z28 that is completely driveable? Frankly, I wouldn't pull anything off the 97z28 unless they are performance/aftermarket mods, such as your new opti.

 

The 97 is mint. Cammed, CAI, Headers, catback, 1.6RR/springs, ect. The 94 was wrecked 4 years ago by your's truely. I have the engine/tranny in the garage...it was all stock. The turbo setup will require a different cam and I would like different 1.6RR's and different valvesprings (I had one of the 612's break recently), and the headers and CAI and stuff is useless with a turbo kit, but I need that MSD optispark.
I know I need to put a vented-opti era cam in the 94 engine to run the 97's optispark....right? What else will I need for that? Will there be any electrical surprises, or is everything just "plug and play?"
