a few minor things before i begin 1.6RR install

i have a 95 TA and i am getting the PROFORM # 66915 EXTRUDED ALUMINUM 1.6 RATIO 3/8" STUDS (16) ROLLER ROCKER ARMS with most likely the LT4 springs, i am not sure but i think i am going with the LT4 springs just cause of the price. i was also looking at the Iskederian 235 D valve springs cause of the price. i dont know yet depends if this guy with the LT4 ones falls through. anyway i was wondering what other little things i might need to get before i start this whole thing. i dont wanna start it and then be like "o shat i dont have this, and that, blah this, that dont fit, F*CK!!!, and stuff." I was going to do push rods but then i heard that the 95 already has the hardened ones. the rockers i am getting are self aligning so i dont need the guideplates. i think i am mostly concerened with my spring replacement cause i heard there are a few more things then just springs. like retainers, seals, and spring locators things like that. i dont know what spring locators do and how they are benefcial but hey why not? also what gaskets and seals will i need to be replacing when i take all this shat apart just so i know what replacement stuff to buy. like i think the intake manifold gasket or something??? i also wanna get some roller lifters but i dont knwo what they do and i dont knwo how they tie in with the valve train. any info and insight would be helpful.

Pretty sure the LT4's will drop right into place. And as long as you arent putting them in coil bind with the 1.6's then you should be set.

I think the stock lift is like 450/.460 so that is .480/.491 with the 1.6's and I think the LT4 springs are good to .525 lift, so you should be good there. You'll need to upgrade later if you go to a different cam, so you might as well get the right springs now.

As for what you'll need to swap them, you'll need a spring compressor, and the usual hand tools to do it all.

As for the roller lifters I've heard of a few guys taking their stockers apart and cleaning them really well, then putting them back in. Probably don't need new lifters yet, but when you do the cam you should probably replace them.

I started out to put a cam and springs in my car before Christmas, and its turned into a heads/cam swap. Beehive springs, 1.6 RRs, rebuilt lifters, new pushrods, rev kit, guideplates, studs, porting, bigger valves, the works. It can add up fast, so watch your budget and have a game plan.

Good luck to ya

yea i am going with aome springs that can provide up to .600 lift so i can go ahead with a 306 or lt4 cam.

I've got the cc306 sitting under my bed, next to the Comp 918 beehives. Got em both for under $500 with retainers/locks/pushrods

Be sure if you go the beehive route that you get the proper retainers, there is a .000 lock, a +.050 lock and a -.050 lock. Each will have a different installed height and seat pressure.
