Felpro vs ARP Head Bolts

Hey guys im in the process of acquiring parts for my head gasket swap, ive been told to get ARP bolts, but have also been told that since the car is stock that i dont need such a high performance bolt. Only reason i could think of to get the ARP's is because i believe they are reusable right? Does anyone run these Felpro Bolts Part No. ES72856. Anything cheaper would help me out right now and these bolts are only 17.99. Thanks for your help

Head bolts are not re-useable regardless of brand. Since your engine is stock the Fel-Pro's will be fine.

if you get TTY bolts, they are not re-usable. which I think they started using TTY i believe in 96? My 95 had the regular re-usable bolts

Most aftermarket non-TTY head bolts, including ARPs (like the popular ARP 134-3601s) are reusable.

I believe this is correct. From what I remember 93-95 did not have TTY bolts and can be reused. 96+ this is a bad idea.

I have the FelPro's and have no issues.

You don't need the ARP bolts, IMO the ARP bolts are a waste of money because there's little gain over a set of regular head bolts and if you're worried about clamp load you need to jump up to the stud kits. That being said, if you have the integral washer flange "grey" bolts used in the '96+ motors they are not re-usable and you can replace them with any of the aftermarket bolt kits that have a flanged head or washer, the standard bolt kits are designed for cast iron heads, and because these heads are aluminum you need the washer or flange. Both Felpro and Enginequest make good quality head bolt kits for less than $20.
