You can use 1886 or OS34500R. Both are one piece gaskets. I always use the 1886.

Little tip,if ya don't want leaks with a Canton run a cork SBC gasket and fill the pan with solvent to check for leaks in/at the welds.

That is if ya are running one. I just ain't had good luck with the silicone gaskets with the crush spacers either Ford or Chevy.

It's a cork side, neoprene end gasket that has been used on SBC since '55.

Are these truly the same gasket? The one from Autozone said felpro on the computer, but the box says ROL. It's also orange instead of the black like all the pics I've seen. I just don't want this thing to leak. Thanks.

Not sure about the ROL gasket but you can use either of those felpro part numbers. I get mine from Summit. The 1886 is blue.

Well, it's in an ROL box and it's orange, but it has that part number on the box, OS34500R.

I`ve used the FP OS34500R before, it never leaked. Just make sure everything is real clean, and use a LITTLE bit of grey RTV at the junctions of block/rear main seal housing and block /timing cover. I also use a little on the timing cover and rear main seal housing themselves where the gasket touches. And don`t overtorque!

The gasket you got was made by a company named ROL, they make their gaskets in Montreal, Canada. AutoZone is just using the Fel-Pro numbering system, that is common in parts stores when they switch lines.

When you have a rubber gasket that is colored like that I think that is just a given manufacturers' way of identifying compounds- meaning they always know an orange gasket is such-and-such compound, a blue is such-and-such, and so on.
