I just bought an intake manifold gasket set from advanced auto, the felpro one, and I just wanted to make sure the intake manifold gaskets have the same port size as the OEM gaskets because I'm sending out my intake manifold to be ported, and since my head ports are matched to the OEM gaskets perfectly, I wanted to make sure the fel-pro's have the same port size. And are the fel-pro gaskets as good as GM gaskets, or should I go with GM gaskets when I put my new intake manifold on?

When I checked about 6 months ago during my build, the fel-pro intake gaskets for the LT1 came in two types with two seperate part numbers(sorry I can't recall them)......one is supposed to be the stock GM size ports(but I never held one up to a stock head) this is what all the advance and autozone stores around my area had...... and the other is a printoseal gasket which has little silicone outlines around each port right into the gasket...it has slightly oversized ports that can be trimmed out much further without any trouble since these have NO metal inside, just rubber material......I just checked my old stock GM gaskets for ya and they measure 1 and 1/4in wide......and 2 and 1/16in tall.....and all that were talking about here are "all" good quality gaskets............hope some of this helps

 

Here ya go......FPP-1284 these are the easier to trim slightly larger port gaskets I was talking about.........and MS-95580 which are supposed to be the stock port size(like the GM gasket).... which Im guessing is the ones you got from your autoparts store .....

 

I just measured them, and they came out to the same size, thank you.
