feels like im towing at top end

alright so just a few days ago i adjusted the rockers and tightened them about a turn and a 1/4-1/2. NOW it feels like about 45-5000 rpm it bogs and lags A LOT. definetly notice a decrease in tourque(used to have no traction at any rpm range above 2k in first by just flooring it with these tires on, now it has no problem gripping). the top end bog usually acts up on hot days but the top end LAG just started and does it almost all the time.. not sure if the symptoms are connected or not.. btw i still have a light tick from the valve train, even after tthe extra 1/2 turn.. where should i start first?? got 135k on the clock too

If it happend directly after you messed with the rockers, id imagin thats the cause. Im no expert on rockers, but normally when you change something, then it does not run right, its always good to check what you just changed.

start by readjusting the valve train to 1/4 to 1/2 turn vice the 1 1/2

The light tick may be a bad lifter not bad adjustment.

You are way too tight and probably floating the valves at higher RPMs.

too tight lifters

i know that they are probably too tight but it was the only way to remove almost all chatter. i started by turning them a 1/4 then 1/2 then 3/4 but still ticked after reving up. soo i tightened a full turn and it mellowed out a lot.. then after bring the car back up to WOT the tick came back. figured to tighten just a 1/2 turn from what they were and most noise stopped. guessing the locking nuts on some are bad, ill probably start by pickin some new ones up and reseting lash again.

thanks for the response

you probably collapsed the lifters running them that tight.
