Fair price for cylinder boring and honing...

Trying to get a feel for what it costs to either hone or bore an LT1 block at a reputable machine shop. Any thoughts?

Judging from your list of parts, that was a steal, shopping around I could only buy the parts for 1200$.

DAMN!!

I was quoted 250, but after bull****ting with the guy about his car, I walked out and he called saying "Hey, bring Ben Franklin and your block"

I just got to get around to doing it now...

i bought the rotating assy. (forged scat crank, forged h-rods, and hyper pistons) for free from ebay. the company had a phone number, i called, got my stuff and they never charged me. i called them 3 times, talked to 3 different people telling them i've never been charged. paid off my card, canceled the card....all after about2 months.

so, 1200 for the 383 was a relly good deal for me...and i got an elect wp out of it.

ported stock heads, ported intake manifold, deck height matched/checked, block clearanced for 383, honed/bored for .030 over, rotating assembly was balanced (4 inches of metal), elec wp, installation of all parts and gaskets provided by installer.

i'd say that was a pretty good deal.

i gave him my 350 and he gave me an assembled 383.
