ok i went the first time
just ran 94 octane from mohawk and got the thing nice and warm by unpluggin my #1 fan
failed on NOX by .0018
so i decided to goto the white rock location
passed on NOX but failed hydrocarbons.. suppose to be .5 but got .6814
Any idea wtf i can do!
Got a new cat of somone on this board w/ low low km
new plug wires and plugs about 10k ago
any suggestions!

 

I believe when your car is too hot it raises your nox levels

 

when i lowered the temp i failed on HC

 

then your car is too cold, you need a happy medium, LOL

i know whats wrong with your car, but i wont tell you till you return my wheels and tires

well, high HC is from not burning the air/fuel completely and high NOX is from high combustion temps or pressure.

is the PCM pulling timing at all?

Do a search on "denatured alcohol" on this site, it might help.

 

I recently failed emissions too!
Even after I went through the trouble of getting a new highflow cat installed after my longtubes and a Y-pipe. I got a bottle of some "Guarnteed to Pass" stuff to run thru the tank. Came back put it on the rollers and passed with flying colors. Oh, I forgot to mention.... this time around I opened my electronic cutout. :-D not too many HC's or NOX commin out the flowmaster after that.

I ran that emissions stuff to make it look like I made an effort to help. Also check your air filter... it might be time for a recharge if ya have a K&N.
