Factory computer limit of 93 computer? 7K??

I have a 92 vette, and it has the same computer as you guys 93 computers, and the question that I have is if you guys know what the limit is of the computer? My car is banging at 7000 and I was wondering if the computer shuts off at that or I may have some other issue. My Tuner Cat table goes to 7500, and my rev limiters are set to 8K.

No surging, just like hitting the factory rev limiter. Btw : I have a balanced bottom end and a solid roller. The vettes do not come factory with a 7k limiter, I removed the factory settings.

Check the programming and make sure that it is set at 7k, if its not my next guess would be the coil. It cause me to have high rpm problems when it went. Its a cheap replacement, just replace that and the coil wire.

That is the thing my rev limiter is now set at 8K and it will only go to 7K and I was wondering if that is all that the factory computer would go is 7K.

I dont think so If you set the rev limiter to 8k it should go to 8k. Thats pretty high though, what kinda motor u got there . What about the coil, seems to simple to be true, but have you checked the coil?

No, I haven't started digging in the motor yet, but I thought that I remembered something about the factory computer only being good to 7k. Just wanted to make certain of this before I go chasing my tail......

You may be better off moving this to the Computer Diagnostics/Programming Section of the board.
