Factory Alarm Keeps Going Off
Yesterday my alarm went off twice within the course of an hour (no one was messing with the car and I didn't hit the panic button).. the goddam alarm then went off a few times while I was in bed and I finally disconnected the battery and manually locked the doors at 5 am this morning (slow learner). Every time the doom light was on as if a door was open/had been opened.. and when I turned the alarm off and then back on again the doom light still didn't shut off as if the car thought a door was still open... but all the doors were definately shut
So here's my guess.. the alarm is aware when a door is opened.. is the alarm on the same switch that triggers the doom light when a door is opened? If so I'm guessing that one of the doom light/alarm switches is shorted or something.. does this make any sense? Where the heck are these switches (including the hatch) and how can I check them? Anyone have a part number for them?
Any advice would be greately appreciated..

Couple o things to check. First, check the hatch cloth, it may be slightly out of place causing it to block off the hatch from shutting correctly. Second thing to do is to turn down the sensitivity of the system. Int he spare tire area, there is a shock sensor near the seat belt. It has a dial on it you can turn down or up. Hope this helps!
I already checked the hatch lock and it appeared to be normal... cloth was not blocking anything. Neither of the doom light switches in the doors appears to be stuck either.. I dunno even know if those are wired to the alarm.. does anyone know if they are? I don't think sensitivity is an issue (though that is handy to know) because there were no loud cars or anything.. no people.. nothing. The alarm just goes off on its own like there's a short or something. Is it possible that something else in the are (like another keychain remote) is interfering with the system on my car?

I had the same problem one night.. alarm just kept going off for no reason every time I locked the car with the remote. Well I played with the sensitivity etc.. did nothing.. so finaly I just didn't lock the car therefore my alarm wouldn't arm so it couldn't go off for no reason. The light inside my car stayed on however.. it always does unless you lock the car.. but if I did the alarm would go off in like 5min. So I just left it but the interior light goes off after 10min as a safetly feature so the battery isn't draind. I just left it over night and had the same problem in the morning.. but after driving it the next day and parking it back home.. haven't had a problem sice... don't know what caused it.. but it's fixed now..

Maybe there is a ghost that keeps setting it off!!!
seriously though.......a quick fix would be to just unplug the sensor by the spare tire. I was having lots of trouble with mine, so i just unplugged it and am going to just go with an aftermarket alarm soon.
