explain how I am hitting almost 6300 rpm?!?

I have a completely untouched PCM in every way shape and form, yet I am able to hit almost 6300 rpms. Here is the proof... datamaster image

I know that the PCM has never been reconfigured. Why would I be able to hit this rpm if the stock is supposed to be 5600 or 5800 or whatever. I have argued this to a tee and now I have an image to back me up. I am just curious why the rev limiter doesn't hit sooner.

Thanks everyone

you sure whoever you got it from didnt use a hypertech on it? mine reset the rev limiter to 6200, and you can put it as high as you want to go. i'd check with who you bought the car from, assuming you're not the origional owner.

I bought it from a 75 year old lady. I know for sure that nothing has been done to it.

Sure the tranny isn't slipping? Can you scan through your logs and see how long it spends between your rev limiter and the max rpm hit?

I'm not quite sure how I would do that, but I am pretty sure that clutch slip (I have an M6) is not the cause. Does Datamaster or Freescan show the rev limiter anywhere?

Does it only happen in first, or does it happen in second/third also?

If it's a M6 Ignore the slippage statement...

well, it says 6275 at 69mph, so I assume that it is 2nd gear.

something's wrong here. It says a few records back that I was doing 72mph at 5875rpm. So, I must have let off the clutch before the gas

But I have a few spots in my log file that I am hitting 5900rpm consistently. Why is it allowing itself to rev that high in any case?

Edit: I'm going to go out tomorrow and try to determine if I can hit 6000+rpms consistently or not. I'll let you all know.
