Thumbs down exhaust too raspy...crackles on deceleration

well, i just got my car back running, with edelbrock headers, no cats, and borla with no plate...its REALLY loud...but too damn raspy:-/ is the problem the no cats or what? i kinda miss the low not so loud rumble that the flow master muffler provided in the past

also whats causing the crackling sound when decelerating at high speeds and the occasional backfire?

It is the borla, fuel being burned up.

put cats back on it... It will most likely sove your problem..

Mine would do the same with the borla and my Eldelbrocks with no cat... As soon as I put a cat back on, it sounded GREAT... Just a little quieter, but a lot more tuned of a sound.

I think its the borlas breathing now like everyone else said. Can you try a few different plates on exhaust before you put a cat back on?
