I just put Jet Hot longtubes on my car with a custom ORP and Dynomouth exhaust(converted LM). When the car is in the 2500-3000 rpm range it sounds terrible. It sounds like a machine gun ricer type sound. I HATE IT. I was wondering if I went to true duels with and H-pipe and Dynomax bullets would that cure the problem or will it still have that raspy sound. I dont think the problem is an exhaust leak but I dont know for sure. Thanks any help would be appreciated.

 

the bullets will still have *some* rasp when letting off the throttle after WOT.......thats just part of having very little restriction in the exhaust.

i havent heard your current setup, but ive heard similar setups and im guessing the true duals will be an improvement for you.

btw, i definetly recommend the H-pipe over the X......the H will have less resonance.

 

I have SLP shorties, x pipe and dual Bullets. Also no cats. Mine isn't raspy at all. The only time I have maybe a little bit of rasp is after a high neutral rev which I very rarely do. But after WOT, I don't really notice any rasp. I had a lot more rasp when I had the Flowmaster on.

 

What size is the dynomax bullet that is on your car now? 12" or 18''? If you have money to swap exhausts I'd go for the duals, too.

 

I have the 12" bullit on now. Thanks for the help any more would be appreciated. And mine makes that horrible noise on acceleration mostly (A4) so every time I leave a stop light I sound like a friggin honda.

 

I'm an auto as well. I dunno man. I don't have any problems with mine at all. Especially with turndowns. It is one nasty(in a good way) setup. Really deep and aggressive.
