Exhaust size?
Exhaust size?
What will be the optimum pipe size to run in this setup. 94 lt1 w/hotcam, intake, etc., figuring around 375hp at the flywheel with everything that is done. I am going to run an X pipe and dual spintech pro street mufflers turned down before the axle (96 fullsize truck), with custom street and performance mid length headers. Now the question I need to know is what size pipe from the headers back to the mufflers? thankz
Well I would not do larger then 2.75 but 2.5 is probably the best for dual exhaust, since you are going to be running an LT1... Now with LS1, 3" seems to be the deal since LS1's love to breathe....

Nothing wrong with it but why and LT1 in a pickup. Why not just get a SBC 350 for $100. Some parts are interchangable but in general there is alot more selection from an older model 350 block and it is alot cheaper. Just my .02. I love my LT1 in the firebird but seems like a bit much work in a truck. But good luck and have fun. Hmm wonder how hard it would be to get an LT1 in my blazer hehe.

LT1 in a fullsize is really easy, bolts right in and no clearance problems using headers and corvette accessories. Only thing you have to do is worry about wiring, but its not that hard. With the lt1, you get the benefits of alot better gas mileage than the sbc350 would ever see, and reliability. Figure 375hp now, 500 after vortec blower and other tweaks, and still have the reliability and decent gas mileage. PLUS they look really clean in fullsize trucks
