Exhaust setup to sound like this....inside!

Sound Clip

This current setup is on an LS1 but I've heard LT1's sound like it. I want that mean screaming roar when it's revved. There's a guy with a green convertible LT1 with I think a 383 on this site that has an exhaust just how I want mine to sound. Somehow that just sounds great to me. I used to want it as low and deep as possible, but that smooth scream just gets my attention.

I'm not really looking for the low grumble anymore. I really like the deep tone of my cutout, also my buddy has a hooker catback and I really like that. I just think that smooth roar sounds meaner. I plan to go true duals with my Jet Hot LT's I just wanna know should I go H pipe or X pipe and what kind of mufflers to get that sound.

That video on Lane's website is of an LS1 Formula with headers (not sure what type), no cats, 3" X-pipe into 2.5" reducer, through FloPro Twister mufflers dumped at the rear axle. NICE sound no doubt!

BTW, my buddy's LS1 Formula with Pacesetter LT's, cats, 2.5" X-pipe, and through those same FloPro Twister mufflers all the way out the back definitely sounds similar to that car. Just an evil DEEP sound all the way to redline. In fact, sounds as deep as many LT1's I've heard.

Anyone recommend mufflers to go with on a true dual setup to make my LT1 sound like that. If I had a deep raspy "mean" sound like that every time I stabbed the go pedal I'd never leave the cockpit.

I have a video of my LT1 with a 224/230 cam, hooker long tubes, 3in. to 2.5in. dr. gas x-pipe, 2.5 in dynomax bullet mufflers, and dumped before the rear axle. you can find it on this website:

Here is the sound clip that convinced me to go with a Spintech muffler.

http://www.exhaustsoundclips.com/sou...ltheaders1.mp3

My car doesn't sound quite like that, because I dont have the mufflex 4" pipe. I have jet-hots, to a custom y-pipe and 3" all the way back to a spintech pro street muffler and man it is AWESOME. You don't need duals to get that scream sound at WOT. This muffler is great. Its pretty quiet at idle, quiet cruising around town, no interior drone, but when you get on it...man, it gets LOUD. It screams at WOT. My friends have commented that it sounds like a race car. I have gotten many compliments on the sound. I am convicend, spintech owns!

Just my humble opinion of course.

Hmm...wierd, but oh well. I put it up on my school's web space they provide for us. See if this works.

EDIT: for some reason, with the link being so long it is putting a break in the middle of it so it wont work. Try going here and then clicking it. http://umdrive.memphis.edu/mtfinch/public/ or go to www.exhaustsoundclips.com and look for it in the GM section.
