exhaust rattling?

exhaust rattling?

i put in a SLP loudmouth exhaust on my 1995 z28 and were the drive shaft and exhaust meet rite behind the cat theres a thin metal plat bolted on and my exhaust rattles when idiling off it is it possible for me to just take the metal sheet off or do i need it thanx.

why don't you just loosen the connection at the cat and push the pipe up, then retighten. I sounds like when you bolted it up , it was twisted a bit and already resting on that tunnel support. You'll probably find that your tips are a little off too. If not, you may have to adjust them also when you adjust the connection at the cat. Same thing happened to me b4

My exhaust did this before after I bottomed out one time. I just bent that cross thing so it wouldn't rub any more. But I would do what the guy before me said first.

When your exhaust rubs it is probably setting off the knock sensor. I'd fix it so you won't loose any power.

Also, I think I remember reading somewhere that you don't need that cross thing. But I would research that further, although it doesn't seem like it does much...
