Which exhaust is quieter?

Don't flame me.

Im too old and tired for a loud exhaust - thats what my 68 is for.

I was happy with the stock exhaust on my daily driver (baby seat totin) '93 Z28. Then last week I realized the muffler is rotted from the inside after i picked up another 944S2 weekend/DE car.

I'm looking for a cat back that is as quiet as possible.

which is quieter, the flomaster, edelbrock, or SLP SS single outlet system?

Personally the quiestest I have heard is stock . Edlebrock is really quiet. Flowmaster is loud, my magnaflow was supposed to be quiet and i take it to me louder..... I say edlebrock

The SLP one is the quietest out of those. You may wanna look at the Hooker or Magnaflow also.

I can't even hear my Hooker at idle/cruising, but at WOT it has a deep screaming tone

Ditto on the Hooker noise level. Below 2000 RPM the difference over the stock system is negligible. After that it builds to a nice roar.

Out of those three... the SLP.

If you want really quiet, the B&B system is about the quietest I've heard.

The SLP loud mouth is the quietest I've heard yet.

Naw, but seriously the SLP SS single outlet is pretty dang quiet. Might be your best bet for what your looking for.

Quiet Exhaust

I've got the SLP Dual/Dual on my car with Hooker long tubes and a muflex 3 inch Y pipe. I went from a Flowmaster cat-back to the SLP and I was shocked at the difference. The SLP nearly sounds stock at idle and cruise but when you open it up, it sounds really healthy, with no drone at cruise!

Although it was not not one of your choices, I recommend
a Dynomax Ultraflow. Quieter than stock on the inside and
a bit louder on the outside.

the SLP is about $150 more then the edelbrock or flowmaster, but it is all stainless while the edelbrock is only a stainless muffler.

i didnt see much on the dynomax, isnt that made by walker?

the guy at summit thought the flowmaster would be quieter then the edelbrock, thats why i put up a post here. i read the flowmaster isnt the most efficient.

probably go for the SLP unless the dynomax is much less than the other two.

Yes, the Dynomax is Walker. It's also about the same internal
design as the Magnaflow. I would avoid the Flowmaster if you
want quiet since they can be much more resonant inside the car.

SLP want $440 for their single outlet SS system, I can get a Magnaflow for $265. I am living with the stock system with a rotted inside, but would like it quieter, and don't want to deal with rust since i live by the ocean.

so am I correct the Magnaflow shouldn't be much louder then the SLP, but quieter then the flowmaster or loudmouth?
