sorry guys this thread kinda got whored.....but can anyone answer my question>??
basically i want to use a headers/ypipe setup from mac thats made for a 94-95, i know that it will bolt up to the motor, but will everything line up around where the cut outs for the stock cats are supposed to be because my car is a 96' and originally had 2 cat's.....? I dont plan on using it with any of the stock exhaust...i just want that much to bolt up, also, will a 94-95 cat back bolt up to it and line up with the rest of my cars stock locations?

The y-pipe on those headers is shorter than the dual cat y-pipe, so it won't connect directly to your catback. You'll have to either buy a new cat (made for a single cat LT1) and an s-pipe, or just have an exhaust shop make you a pipe to connect the y-pipe to the catback.
Here's what I'm doing with my 97. I have MAC single cat headers and y-pipe(part#MACTF94957), MAC off-road pipe(Part#MAC49395), and a Borla cat-back(94-95 single cat). The only other thing you need if you plan on running the same set-up as me is a pair of 02 simulators, everything else will line up correctly.
Hope this helps,

one more for ya though, is that silver paint on the mac headers/y-pipe
94-95 Single Catalytic Car Header System
Part Number: TF94957
is that High Temp coating like for headers or is it just silver paint or something? If so how long does it take to burn off? how durable is it if it is HTC?
thanks
