Exhaust Question

Right now Im running true duals with the x pipe. the guy set my mufflers up so they drag like crap. Im gonna wait till they have holes through them from scraping. I can either have the duals re-done, or get a catback system on my car with a y pipe. Will i lose much hp going from true dual 2.5 in crush bent pipe. To a 3 in completly madrel bent system. Then I could get rid of the 4x4 suspension too

Have you considered a 3.5" Mufflex system? You can re-do the duals if you would like, but a 3.5" Mufflex would suit you very well also.

If I get a Y pipe it will be a hooker with a magnaflow catback. I just hate the clearence issuses of my duals now.

Getting really good ground clearance with a dual setup can be done. If you're lowered, you can do it with an oval setup run through low profile mufflers (spintech, borla, etc). That kinda of system is not going to be cheap to put together.

If you do the standard round pipe, then you need to keep it tight. The headers need to be tight too. If they hang down too far then you are just gonna have problems cause that's likely where they'll scrape. So you've gotta keep it tight.

Which mufflers are you using now?

2.5 in bullets. Like I said the guy positioned them crappy. I just like the idea of having a madrel bent system, or I want to get the duals ran all the way out the back.

cant tell you the power gains or loss. but i run a dual 2 3/4 over the axle out the back(with the bullits after the axle) clearance is the same as stock. the jet hots are about 1/2 in below the tranny pan, hadnt had a problem yet. well i scratched the driver pipe, but not enough to dent it.

oh yea, they are both in the stock location and are VERY close. mounted in solid rubber mounts and no rattles.
