In general terms I know headers provide a pretty good performance upgrade. I've heard from a few people that they only last a few years (I assume there talking about coating; if not, I'm not sure). I do want headers, but if this is something that is going to require constant attention, I'm not sure if they are for me.

I don't race my car (drag, or autocross). I simply enjoy owning it and driving it now and then. Am I better off just putting a new CAT (Random tech or equivalent), and new O2 sensors? I've already got an aftermarket muffler I'm happy with.

the performance of the car is fine as it sits now, but I'm always looking for something. I just don't want something I'm going to have to "fiddle" with all the time.

Are they really worth it for a "few days a week" driver?

If you are pleased with the sound and performance, then spend your money on something else. Like maybe a WS6 Hood.

 

..or mabye a SS hood, it being a camaro. Don't put a cat on it unless you have smog laws, just go with an ORP

 

Only last a few years...

My Jet-Hot's don't require any maintenance at all.
