Exhaust leak

I have an exhaust leak, or at least thast what ive been told it is... I hear a ticking at low rpm acceleration and if i just pop the hood at idle i can hear the ticking, just quieter and less frequent. Im currently trying to convince my parents to allow me to replace the stock manifold with shorties or midlengths and putting a corsa or borla cat back on at the same time. Ive already told them that having an exhaust leak can cause the o2 sensors to read wrong and thus causing different fuel to air ratios, causing an increased amount of unburned fuel to make it to the cat. This kills the cat does it not?
I also mentioned how it would make spark plug and wire access easier and make the engine overall easier to work with... Is there any other pros i should add to this persuasive arguement? Or at least any other nearly beleivable garbage i should throw in?

I've got a good one gor you. Tell them that the exhaust leak can cause the driver to get carbon monoxide poisoning and can cause illness or death. That'll do it for you
