Exhaust Help...Need to MAKE up MIND!!!

I was going to make true dual exhuast off of my LT's with 2 cats, X pipe, 2 Bullets and bringing it all the way to the back...after looking at how tough it is to bring back and shops telling me they don't do it, I am seriously contemplating not doing the true duals at all. I've been quoted $150 to install a cat back, new Y pipe and cat. I really want duals, but I can't tell how much it is going to cost? Does anyone have any costs as far as bringing the duals all the way back? Thanks for the help...

Why do you have to have the duals all the way back. If its for looks like I worried about just leave the pipes there from the rear axle back and have the duals dump before the axle

Here in Houston, that won't cut it. It has to go to the back for inspections. They physically get underneath it and look. Plus, if the car is loud and you get pulled over and the cop looks underneath and it is not all the way back then you will get a $200 ticket like my brother did. I just don't want to chance it. I will be creating ~400rwhp this summer and need to make a decision.

i think the duals all the way back would be cool. you would have a different sound and something unique on a camaro. i have not heard duals on a camaro but it can't be bad. i don't know the cost for an installation. i would do a search on here for duals and you will probally be able to get the help you need because there is people on here with similar setups. good luck

Just stick with a catback if you have to have them come out the back. Its gonna be hard to find a shop who will take the time to do it for one. Plus there gonna have to modify a few things like the panhard rod etc. If i had to go with a catback I would go with a 4in i-pipe and have 2 long bullet mufflers welded on them. I bet that would sound awesome. Would be deep sounding since the bullets tone out the exhuast high wind sounds.

Hmmm...that sounds interesting. What exactly would that look like? I am not only looking for sound but for a better air flow. I am going to have a hot cam, ported heads, cai, 52mm tb, LT's, and then that is where I am now wondering where to go. I want to have ~400rwhp. I have the X pipe, but it was free so it is not a must to use. Will the performance with only a cat back be the same as the duals or will I lose performance. I've heard the X pipe ads hp and the increase in air flow also ads hp. How much will I be losing? Thanks for the help. I've searched for this topic and have found a hand full of pic of what it looks like dualed...really nice I might add. But the modifications look like a pain in the a$$ and I bet it is real expensive to do it as well. Thanks again...

With true duals, you have to think of ground clearance. Also, if you don't mind a lot of interior resonance b/c you will have lots of it.
