Exhaust HELP! haha

Ok, so i think i may have made a dum dum move. My 95z (i just found out today) has calif emissons, so it's got the 2 seperate pipes with 2 cats on it. I bought a set of headers and a y pipe from a user here on cz28.com, but im thinking the y pipe may not work now, or may not be long enough to connect. Also, The Y pipe and the headers are both flanged, but the intermediate pipe is slip fit. Any idea how to determine how to get the y pipe to fit for me? Im thinking the simplest way to go about this is to measure exactly how long i need the extension on the y pipe to be, have the flange cut, and a pipe welded on to makeup the difference? Does that seem like it will work? Any suggestions would be awesome.. Here is a picture from walker of the setup.. I have the 95 calif pipes, and i am assuming everyone else has the 93-94 style y pipes. Thanks guys
