Exhaust Gasket Reccomendation/Pricing

I need to pick up some exhaust gaskets for my MAC header install in a few weeks. Whats everyone here running and how much did they cost you?

Any reccomendations? I want to do this right the first time with no leaks.

I researched the same thing, and the general consensus seems to be Felpro 1406 gaskets, about $15 bucks from Jegs.com

I see those on the website, as well as the 1470's which are designated for the LT1/LT4. They 1470's cost twice as much though....

Anyone know what the main differences between these 2 gaskets are? If the 1406's work, I'll go with those.

I believe the only gaskets that have completely sealed my MACs have been the 1406s and I have tried just about every single one

They arent specifically for LT1s and the front and rear bolts holes dont line up but they seal good

Dont match up!?! As in they are bigger/smaller?

Hmmmm... How much do the GM gaskets cost?

On the 1406s the front and rear holes dont line up with the flanges but they still seal. Got them on my car with no problem.

Do you have the headers now? My MAC's came with nice copper gaskets. I ordered mine from Jet-Hot though.

I'm going to give the copper ones that came with my MAC's a try first.

Here's some instructions I found for gasket install. Looks like you don't need to torque them down very much. I wonder if the people who are getting leaks might be over torqueing the bolts.
