i am just putting on the turndowns off my headers right now. on the driver side i am finding that the exhaust piping and the fuel lines are very close, enough that it worries me. below i have a few pictures of how close. i was hoping some of you might be able to give me some advice as to whether or not i should be worried, and for those that are running duals if you had the same problem as i do and how you over came it

the third one i have my fingers in there to give you and idea of the clearance.

the other question i had is if you think i would need to use exhaust hangers of not. i am just afraid the added weight on the back of the headers could cause undue stress on the threads on the head for the exhaust manifolds and strip them or something else of that sort. below is a picture of how far back it goes, and each pipe probably weighs around ten pounds (they are 30"sections of 3" steel exhaust piping)

When I did my headers, I GENTLY bent them a little further out of the way and then wrapped them with heat wrap (the stuff that looks like aluminum foil).

 

I also used heat reflective tape to wrap the fuel lines. The one that is made of fiberglass and has aluminum foil on the outside.
I have driven for long periods of time in stop and go traffic and also for several hours on long highway trips without issues.

I think you should use a hanger on the back of those 30" extensions. I welded a piece of flat 1 1/2"x 1/8" iron between both extensions and re-used the stock L shaped hanger in the bracket shown in your picture.

the shop that put my ypipe in pried the header down a little bit by sticking a long pipe in the end of it and prying down. I also used heat tape on the fuel lines where the pipe was closeest to it.

 

that idea with the L-hanger is really good.
