Exhaust exit in front of rear wheels?

Hey Guys,

Just wondering if anyone has ever tried making exhaust exits in front of the rear wheels? Yes, i know its probably not legal, and the clearence would suck, but i would still like to see it. Kinda NASCAR style if you know what i mean, headers with true duels that fan out kinda square-ish infront of the rear tires....

If anyone has tried, or has pictures i would like to hear/see it...

Thanks

I have both pipes exiting in front of my rear passenger tire. It is legal, at least in NJ to have it exit there as long as the pipes clear the doors. I like my setup, but ground clearance does suck. I dont have my front sway bar on anymore, and when i kick the back end out, sometimes the pipes smack the ground. Other than that I like it a lot.

in most states it is illegal for any exhaust to exit before the rear tires, the only acception is if thier is at least one foot clearance between the end of the cab and the exhaust. on my truck i had that clearance before my rear tire so i had the exhaust come out thier. MA is strict with that kind of stuff

Hey SoontobeGN,

Do you have any pics of you set up? I would love to see it. Does anyone know what the laws for this are in NH?

Thanks

I have a similar setup... I believe there are some pictures in the website button below...

I'm running Hooker LTs, Custom X-pipe, Dynomax Bullets, and then 90* bends and out the sides through Borla Tips.

I'm going to try and re-do it next summer with stainless and a slightly different setup, but still exiting in the same location.

if you want some more pictures, send me an e-mail (godsmackt12@yahoo.com) and I'll shoot some other ones over.

Best bet is to call a local exhaust shop. They should be able to tell you.

I'll try to get some pics of mine for you soon. I'm not running any fancy tips or anything, just two pipes straight out the side. Looks kind of like the 2000 Mustang Cobra R pipes, the way they dump out the side, but not shiny.

I have dual Bullets on my car and I have them both turned out right before the rear tires. Check out my website and there are a few pictures that will give you an idea of how I have it setup.
