Exhaust descsion

I have a '95 Firehawk and I'm planning on redoing the exhaust. I've decided on the GMMG cat-back system but I can't decide on the front end. I want LT's and a free flow cat but I live in NJ and the emissions are really tough here. Does anyone have any suggestions on some good, legal, decently priced headers? Also, what all I would need to ensure that the system is street legal. Thanks.

Longtube headers are not emissions legal.

I thought so but wasn't sure. Any good suggestions on shorties? I was looking at the Edelbrock and BBK's but not sure which are better.

Don't spend $700 on GMMG chambered when you can build your own...check out this site for the stainless steel chambered mufflers...

...then just have your local muffler shop do some work for you and you'll save hundreds...

I've heard good things about the SLP shorties (larger primary), and they are emissions legal. Mac headers are also a good choice. As far as price though, SLP headers for your year are a joke, I think they're somewhere around 600-700 dollars ceramic coated, while the MAC are only in the 400's. I don't have a clue as far as what cat to go with, I don't have emissions, so I'm just taking mine off. Or, you could always get an offroad pipe to replace the cat, then swap the cat back in for testing.

Yea, the SLP's are really pricey. For the coated polished shorties they are $800. Compare that to the Edelbrock and BBK's at $450-500.
