I know people that have experience with both...my uncle rigged up a pretty cool deal with his car he ran a steel cable from the cutout up through the floor board and he could just open it up whenever he wanted it was good stuff...(it may not have technically been a cutout its been several years but man it was cool)

well I've heard bad things about the quality of the cable ones, but thats what I would get if there was a decent one out there. I personally hate the wingnut ones too, cause you gotta have gaskets, and under our cars with no ground clearance its no fun. I made my own with a cast iron three inch pipe with a cap, I basically used only the threaded portion and welded that to my pipe, now all I do is unscrew it and I'm done, no gaskets or wingnuts, I do put grease on the threads to keep them from rusting, works well. The only cable operated one I've seen looked pretty bad, but there must be some that work well, my dad also had one and he loved it, but it was some years back, so I can't say which company made it
