I have a question about exhaust. I bought a 94 z last summer totally stock. I wanna get an exhaust put on this spring, I was considering a flowmaster, but does anyone have the dynomax system? Any suggestions? Also I was wondering what kind of gears my car has I have an auto, i have read some guys not having 1st gear on their shifter mine does, what gears do I have?thank you

You probably have either the 2:73's that came with most automatics, or you have the 3:23's.

As far as exaust goes, most aftermarket 3" exhausts will be better than stock. I would suggest the SLP loudmouth, Hookers, Edelbrock, and the Corsa. It all depends on how much money you want to spend on it.

The Corsa and Loudmouth will be the most expensive but probably flow and sound the best. Hooker, Edlebrock, and Flowmaster are nice and cheap. The Dynomax is nice and I hear it flows good, but it's ok.

if you can select 1st gear you have the performce axle...3.23 ratio

as for exhaust...flowmaster is good, many don't like the sound, many do.

here are some others to look into around the same price range
Hooker
SLP loudmouth (loudest and probably most gain by 2-3hp)
magnaflow (link in my sig)

more expensive
corsa
b&b triflow
borla

another one is ATR, but i'mnot sure of a price

I'm in the same boat. My POS SLP 2OTL exhaust has broken 2 of the mounting tabs. I fixed one of the about a year ago and tonight one of the other ones broke. I think I'm going with the Mufflex with the SpinTech muffler. You can go to Mufflex-Performance.com and here the SpinTech exhaust on their website. I think it sounds good and they flow great.
