Everyday Stall Driving

How would a stall affect everyday driving? If you were gonna daily drive what size would you get?

Ideally you want to match your stall to your torque peak.

I drive mine daily and use a Vig 2600 stall. I made a lot of changes to the computer to adjust lock up, shift points etc. to get the trans to work the way I wanted.

Before my adjustments, the trans would be in stall all the time. It made the car feel sluggish and not very responsive. After the adjustments... it's like a whole different car. If anyone would like to see the numbers I used in my trans tables, let me know. But I consider changing the computer to match the stall, a MUST!.

What kinda stuff did you change? I've never messed with the tranny's settings. Do you know what the original settings were as well? I might try this since my mechanic put in a slightly higher than stock stall converter.

I have a stock '94 A4 .bin file and the current .bin file with all the changes if you have the software to read them.

I have a Vigi 3200, it flashes a little higher, around 35-3600 and I love it. Yea, its a bit of a pain at times but after a week you'll be use to it. It feels really weird driving around when you first get it, car feels real loose but thats prolly because I have a bit bigger stall than what they recomend for a daily driver. Any case, its a great mod to make. I'm happy because I can throw in just about any cam I want and the stall will be fine with it and my stall speed is great on the spray.
