the south side kit throw's away the torque arm and lower control arms.
Friend has it on a 3rd gen,it rides good, but in his car the pinion angle is fixed when the southside bars get welded on.
Basically they are like a non adjustable ladder bar setup.
Also,if you run this setup, most "stock suspended fbody" races wont let you come and run,due to no torque arm.

A buddy of mine had the south side machines kit on his 86' camaro, and it planted the rear real well, the problem was like RancinLT1 mentioned above, a lot of places wont let you run your car in a stock class. For my buddy it didnt matter cause he had just headers with extensions dumping into NO exhaust, so he could run anyway.

I have heard of the kit on 4th gens yes, but not too many people use it, from what i understand due to tracks cracking down on what class you can run in with your car like before mentioned. A lot of other people use other traction bars like Lakewoods, so i am surprised that there arnt more replies. I only have seen the kit in person on 3rd gens so i cant help in that area. I think it will help a 4th gen alot, cause they have a more clunky rear end then 3rd gens in general. You should be able to contact the south side machine people with any specific questions. Sorry i cant really help you out too much
