Ever hear this noise when....

A lot of the time when I put my car in reverse I hear a weird noise coming from the rear end when I begin to back up. Its not a very loud noise, I usually have to turn my radio down to hear it good but it sounds really funky. Kinda like a dog in pain or something. Could this mean my rear end might be loose? My car has only 39,000 miles on it. Any info is appreciated.

NJ my car has low miles on it also...and it makes the same noise. I bet if you got under your car and looked above the rear end where the drive shaft meets the rear you will notice you have rear end gear oil ALL over your floor pans...mine does! The seal in the front of the rear is leaking and you need to add some fluid (reason its squeeling)...i add about a 1/2 quart of fluid every time i change my oil (every 2500 miles). I dont have the time nor patients to fix the seal as of right now...im gonna save up the $$ so i can toss some 3:73's in there or maybe 4:10s at the same time i change that seal!

Hey is there any chance that you just purchased that Car recently?

My car made that noise and I found it to be a sticky rear caliper.
