ET Streets on 10-bolt?

Anyone running ET Streets with no problems on your stock 10-Bolt? I'm 100% sure on springing for the 12-bolt next year, but I'm wondering on how to maximize the abilities of the 10-bolt (which I'm sure cant be much).

Also does anyone know how much more the 12 weighs over the 10-bolt rear?

I've been running ET Drags on my 3.42 10-bolt for 2-3 years. I only had to replace 1 set of gears in that time. Keep in mind I have an auto. 6 speeds are alot harder on the drivetrain. If I had a 6 speed car I wouldn't even bring it to the track without a 12-bolt. Kinda like holding a lit cocktail, it's going to explode.

See my posts in the drag racing section. Here's a summary though:

Nittos + Street Twin + sticky track = BOOM

I have heard of A4 running Drag Radials and ET Slicks and running 11s for a year or so without a problem. But A stick is a different game. Dont do it unless you have the cash for another rear and can tow the car home.

Thanx,
Claude

I'd stay w/ the bfg drags.Take it some what easy and save your money for the 12 bolt.If not you always can rebuild your rear w/ slp take off parts if the 10 bolt goes boom before you get the 12 bolt.

Thanks for the replies. I like my BFGs so far. I figured that A4s would be the only cars that can pull off ETs on a 10-bolt. Saving for a 12-bolt then selling the 10 to make up a small part of the difference wont be too bad and worth the wait. Thanks again.
