estimated lifter install/expense=>

Had to create a new account b/c I couldnt find my login. Anyway, I have lifter tick that annoys me. Midas quoted me $1120.00 to fix them. Now i will do it myself before ever letting them fix it...i just wanted to rule out an exhaust leak. Anyway, I was wondering how long it took some of you to replace lifters and what it ran you. I can wait till winter if i have to. I have also heard that lucas oil treatment can quiet them, anyone else heard that before. I really appreciate your input...i have lurked around here for years and am amazed at the activity in these forums. thanks
