Error code 99 low tach output

What the hell does this mean? I have lost both the factory and Autometer tach now, neither one works. Anyone have any ideas?

Are they both using the same lead from the computer? Try disconnecting the Autometer tach and see if the factory tach works. I am assuming your engine still runs.

Okl, I will give that a try. Because yes, they are both running off the same lead, and yes it still runs

Well, that didnt work. Still have dead tachs. Its wierd, I have a tach on my Datamaster scanner, but the tach is dead in the dash and the autometer one is dead. I checked the line for power at the ECM, and I get a very faint signal. Assuming it would increase the lights power with the engine increasing, we reved the motor. Light didnt change abit. I dont understand how the scanner can pick it up, and the ECM is getting some type of feed from the Opti, cuz it runs fine. Just no tachs. They worked up till the 6 speed conversion, but as far as I know the conversion dosent touch a thing involving the tachs. Ideas anyone?
