Unhappy Enlightenment please.

OK honestly guys I do not know nothing about the PCM, would a Hypertech work on the PCM or something? The reason I'm asking is because I was considering getting a Hypertech but I don't want to spend $300+ for something I do not even understand what it is built to do. Could someone enlighten me please.

If you have no mods yet then I think A hypertech is a waste, it is designed to reprogram your pcm (power control module) or cars computer to deal with thins such as gear and tire size change and turn your cooling fans on sooner to go along with a 160 power stat. personally, and I think most will agree for our cars its a waste of money. when you get enough mods to need to tune your pcm money is better spent someplace like pcm for less or some other mail order tunning, or if you are good with computers and understanding your car, LT1 edit or tunercat.

If you can pick one up used it may help you in several other ways. It can do great things for an automatic transmission. You can lower your cooling fan temps which works well with a 160* stat. You can adjust your speedometer for gear changes.
The tunning programming is obviously controversial but you can just option not to load their "power programing". So used around $100 might be worth it especially if you have an auto. New $*%#@!* forget it.

HPP is a waste of money. People get it, realize this, and can't give the stupid thing away. Spend your $300 elsewhere.

If you have an A4, and can get one CHEAP, then it may be worth it to you. Firming up the shifts in an auto is another nice feature. However, DO NOT buy one new. It is definitely not worth the cost.

The dealer has the equipment but I would bet my last dollar they won,t do any performance tuning. Just reflash it to stock.
PCMforless or MadZ28 call em up or Email em and talk about your setup and what you want to do.

Thanks, I will keep that in mind, I still want to check on my dealer source though. He has a done a little work here and there for me on the side for cheap. I just pay him cash up front.
